INTRODUCTION

HISTORICAL AND ARTISTICAL STUDIES OF THE ARGENTINE HERITAGE IN PUBLIC MUSEUMS AND URBAN AND RURAL ENVIROMENT.

This research work will continue the analyses of architectural objects, sculptures, pictures, drawings, engravings, vitraux, liturgical equipment, etc. of our heritage aiming to get a better knowledge of them. In some of the cases they have underwent a process of new shaping and have acquired new significance to create our own artistic expression or have been an important influence for the local art. This study was inaugurated with FL143 (2000-2003) and with its wide geographical and chronological range benefits the consideration of the diverse historical circumstances as well as the multiplicity of research points of view. Under this perspective, varied plastic works existing in the country are being registered, researched, analysed and specially studied, opening the possibility for creating photographic, architectural and documental archives, as well as a specific data base and a web site devoted to our patrimony. The working area for the present project will be the art production of the Jesuit Missions, the Medieval "revival" in local architecture and European Works of Art in Public Collections, namely at the Museo Nacion
